Etiquette Guidelines

To ensure that all players can enjoy the game, we have put together these guidelines on day-to-day etiquette while playing.
We hope you will take the time to read through them and think about how you can make the COLORFUL STAGE! community a welcoming and fun place for all.

Be Mindful of Your Words

Other players may enjoy the game in different ways or have different opinions from yours.
Aggressively criticizing or insulting someone simply for thinking differently from you is a personal attack on them, and is not acceptable behavior.
Examples of comments to avoid making:

• • Telling someone who doesn't achieve a combo during Fever Chance to "stay away from Co-op Shows"
• • Saying that players low in the Event Rankings "don't care enough about the characters"
• • Saying that players who don't spend money on the game "shouldn't play if they can't afford it"
• • Sending a friend request to a player with low show scores with a message telling them they're bad at the game
• • Saying that another game (or other form of content) is "a rip-off of COLORFUL STAGE!"

In particular, Stamps are intended as a fun way to communicate with other players, but there are some ways of using them that can come across as mean-spirited.
Always be mindful of who your words and actions might be hurtful to.

To Each Their Own

Many COLORFUL STAGE! players have a group or character that they are a particular fan of.
It can be very hurtful to read insulting comments about your favorite character or characters, or to be insulted for liking them.

Examples of comments to avoid making:

• • "<Character>'s singing sucks."
• • "I hate scenes between <Character A> and <Character B>."
• • "<Character> fans are so annoying. We should avoid them."

Your comments on social media and messages in the Lobby are visible to many people. Even if you are not addressing someone in particular, you should always be mindful of who you could be hurting with what you write.

Remember Who Could Be Reading

Comments on social media, video sharing websites and livestreams are publicly visible.
If you post excessively critical or negative comments in that kind of public space, you might be hurting or upsetting someone without realizing.
Examples of behavior to avoid:

• • Commenting, "This isn't what <Character/Group> fans wanted," in reaction to a song, story or artwork
• • Disparaging certain characters or content by saying things like "I just want to see A" or "Just get rid of B."

Everyone has different preferences, and no one wants to be made to feel bad for being a fan of a particular character or piece of content.
Before you next hit Send on a post or comment in a publicly visible space, stop and think whether what you've written is going too far.
We hope you understand that this is for all players' enjoyment and comfort.

Communicate With Empathy

Everyone has different interests, and many people prefer games, characters and songs from content other than COLORFUL STAGE!
Those people might not appreciate it if you talk one-sidedly at them about the game.
When commenting in an online space, try to remember that not everyone in that space is a COLORFUL STAGE! player.
Examples of behavior to avoid:

• • Sending negative Stamps in a Co-op Show because a teammate didn't send a Stamp to greet you
• • Persistently talking to someone when they don't reply in the Lobby

Communication is a two-way street. It's important to consider not just what you want to say, but also how the other person might be feeling.

Don't Spread Unreliable Information

The internet is full of people constantly sharing information.
While some people want to share useful information or discuss shared interests, others take pleasure from purposefully spreading misinformation or leaked content.
Leaked content(including songs, images, music videos or other in-game files)has been obtained by illicit means. We implore all players not to get involved, whether that be leaking the files in the first place or sharing something that someone else has leaked.
Spreading unverified information can have harmful and far-reaching consequences.
Not only that, but many players look forward to learning about new content through the proper channels at the intended time. Exposing these players to leaked content robs them of that excitement.
Examples of behavior to avoid:

• • Reposting a post on X claiming that 4★ drop rates are going to be increased
• • Reposting posts from an X account that claims to be sharing leaked information
• • Sharing an unreleased music video that you find on YouTube

Before you spread information online, ask yourself: Did you get it from a reliable source? Did the original poster obtain it by legitimate means? Think carefully and take responsibility.

Stay Safe and Respect Privacy

Playing COLORFUL STAGE! can be an opportunity to make many friends on and off the app, and we understand wanting to get to know each other better.
However, it's very important to protect your own privacy. Sharing personal information online puts you at risk of having that information used against you, or even becoming the victim of stalking and other criminal behavior.
Examples of behavior to avoid:

• • Asking or answering questions about a player's name, location or school
• • Including your own or someone else's private information (e.g., address, phone number, Player ID) in your Profile or a social media post

For your own and other's safety and privacy, know the risks of sharing your information, and use the internet responsibly.

When Someone Is Bothering You

On the app, if someone is causing trouble for you or making you uncomfortable, take a screenshot and share it with Customer Support via the Support menu in the app.
Customer Support will look into the problem, and suspend that player's account if they have acted maliciously.
If it happens off the app, do the following to avoid escalating the situation:

• • Don't react or respond
• • If the behavior continues, block or report them on the social media platform you are using

Our Stance on Guideline Violations

We may block and mute accounts on our social media and YouTube without warning if their behavior violates our guidelines.
We hope you understand that this is for all players' enjoyment and comfort.

This guide lays out concrete examples of actions that may fall under prohibited conduct detailed in our EULA. We hope that this helps keep COLORFUL STAGE! a fair and wholesome playing experience for all.
Please note that these are only a small set of examples of what the EULA prohibit, and should not be taken to be an exhaustive list.

Examples of Prohibited Conduct

Gaining or providing an unfair advantage

• • Making an agreement with one or more other players to influence scores and other game metrics (e.g., intentionally getting a low score or matching another player's score)
• • Using multiple accounts or devices to purposefully play with or against yourself in multiplayer modes to influence your score or other game metrics.
• *When a player uses multiple accounts to carry out such actions, all of those accounts are considered to have violated the EULA.
• *Even if only one account is found to have violated the EULA, we may take action against any other related accounts, including the "one or more other players" mentioned above.

Unfairly benefitting from exploits

• • Intentionally exploiting errors, bugs or other unintended game behavior
• • Using bots, macros or other third-party programs to automate gameplay, modify files or control the app's behavior

Bothering other players

• • Intentionally not playing the game normally (e.g., leaving the game running or disconnecting midway through a show)
• • Harassing, disrupting or provoking other players

Selling or gifting an account and similar

• • Involvement of a third party, such as playing on someone's behalf or engaging in real-money trading.
• • Buying, selling, gifting, borrowing or sharing an account

Other

• • Encouraging or promoting conduct described in this guide or the EULA.
• • Any other conduct that is disrespectful to other users or contrary to the spirit of the EULA.

How We Deal With Prohibited Conduct

• • When we find that someone has engaged in any of the acts described here, we will take measures appropriate to the severity of the offence, such as temporarily or permanently suspending their account or revoking in-game rewards, in accordance with the EULA.
• • Even if such measures are taken, we will not refund any costs borne by the account holder.
